New Gear

Over the last year, we’ve acquired some really helpful pieces of lighting and grip gear: a new Seven Jib Compact XL, two 4-bank and two 2-bank Diva lights that work in tungsten or daylight balance.

We’re also pleased to report that, joining our versatile Canon XL-H1 HDV system (described below) and our Panasonic DVX- 100a, are some High-End Standard Definition 2/3” chip Panasonic AJ SDX-900 DVC Pro camcorders. For a quick rundown and review:

While we’ll, of course, work in any format (having done a good deal with the HD Cam Sony F-900), all the above equipment is in-house, making for easy, turn-on-a-dime production package tailoring.

High Definition

Gold Teleproductions's Canon XL-H1 HDV Camcorder for HDV (16:9 ratio) shooting in 1080i and high quality standard definition NTSC digital video (16:9 and 4:3 ratio) at 24f, 30f and 60i.

The tapes from this camera work hand-in-hand with those shot by Sony HDV/DV and Panasonic DV cameras, allowing a true upgrade for your shoots by virtue of the quality of this camera/lens package (we also have the zoom-through wide angle adaptor and remote zoom) while still working with tape formats you're accustomed to in your edit suite.

A talented engineer, Dan served as a de facto test pilot for Canon on the XL-H1, so don't hesitate to call or write with any questions about how it may apply to your project.

Editing

We have the latest Final Cut Studio and Adobe After Effects 6.5 for editing everything from analog to HD and out to DVD. Additionally, we've updated to Media 100SW.

Digital Time Lapse

Using the Nikon D70S and 5400, Gold Teleproductions' Dan Epstein has been producing stunning time lapse footage. The digital frames can be processed as HD or DV in most standard formats. Burned to a DVD they can be imported into almost any project with no loss of quality.
